Her works tend to have a participatory element and span photography, film, installation and sculpture.  Blake says, “the active nature of the female body is what interests me, both what it stirs within and without; its ability to create and grow life, its cyclical reminder that death is ever-present and, by the potency of beauty, its ability to fascinate and captivate.”

“What Does Breastfeeding Look Like?” is a portrait series of women breastfeeding their young. The series began in 2015 when Blake noticed that authentic, raw images of women breastfeeding were scarce, so she decided to capture these moments herself. The premise of the series is to show the realities of breastfeeding. The project has received worldwide attention and Blake has captured women in her home country of Australia and around the world. The project continues to this day.
